Posted on April 30, 2008 by Seth YoungDino Rossi, a democratic candidate for the Governor's office in Washington state, vehemently opposes the UIGEA and his state's poker ban, expressing his discontent with the law in a radio interview.
"If you play online poker in this state, you can go to prison for 10 years with a felony rap sheet. What would you do about that?" asked Dori Monson, the radio host on 710 KIRO in Seattle.
"I never would have signed that bill," Rossi replied.
"You have some college kid that's playing poker on his computer and you're going to give him a felony for it," Rossi said. "It doesn't make sense. It doesn't fit the crime."
The law in Washington state puts online poker in the same category as child pornography.
This is good news for poker fans in Washington State, as Lee Rousso dropped out of the gubernatorial race recently.
