Final Table Set at 2008 WPT Championship
Posted on April 25, 2008 by Seth YoungThe final table is set at the World Poker Tour's $25,000 championship event at the Bellagio, and the great dane Gus Hansen is still on top, with Cory Carroll not far behind.
Here are the chip counts and seat assignments going into tomorrow:
Seat 1: John Roveto – 2,720,000
Seat 2: Gus Hansen – 8,570,000
Seat 3: David Chiu – 6,050,000
Seat 4: Tommy Le – 1,950,000
Seat 5: Cory Carroll – 6,670,000
Seat 6: Jeff King - 1,305,000
Making the nine player final table were Tom Dwan and Amir Vahedi, but both went out before the final table was set for the TV taping.
Gus Hansen is the heavy favorite to win, while Tommy Le is the dark horse in this tournament. He's Nam Le's brother, and in the words of Steve Sung, he "Could possibly be the sickest player you've never heard of"
$4,000,000 goes to the first place finisher tomorrow, and all of the players who remain are guaranteed $263,815.
